Meeting the tougher thermal performance, thermal bridging and airtightness of the new Building Regulations can be both extremely challenging and costly. As a builder or developer, you'll need to think about meeting these exacting standards as well as building efficiently to a deadline.
Our Kingspan TEK™
building system is offered in two different thicknesses depending on your preferred level of performance. The Kingspan TEK™ panels in a 172mm thickness can achieve the U-values you need to comply with the English, Welsh and 2015 Scottish regulations, without the need for any additional insulation.
Traditional construction materials rely on bricks and blocks, or a conventional timber frame. The Kingspan TEK™ building system is our structural insulated panel (SIPs) offering. These 142mm- or 172mm-thick panels comprise high-performance rigid urethane insulation sandwiched between two sheets of oriented strand board (OSB).
The Kingspan TEK™ building system is the perfect high-performance building fabric solution for extremely low-energy buildings which require little or no heating at all, such as those designed to the Passivhaus Standard.
The offsite nature of SIPs also means that construction onsite is swift, with most superstructure shells complete after a matter of weeks. It also gives you the assurance that your build will be delivered on time and on budget.
How does it perform?
The Kingspan TEK™ building system comprising 142mm-thick panels yields worst case whole wall and roof U-values of 0.2 W/m²K with no additional insulation. The Kingspan TEK™ building system comprising 172mm-thick panels yield a worst-case whole wall and roof U-value of 0.16 W/m²K with no additional insulation. U-values as low as 0.1 W/m²K can easily be achieved with the addition of an insulated lining.
Our SIP system meets Building Regulations whilst also allowing a slimmer wall build-up than alternative build methods, freeing up wall space for internal rooms that will add value to the property.
